1.India will next month host the World Congress on Adolescent Health, billed as the biggest global event in adolescent health this year.
- Held once in every four years, the International Association for Adolescent Health’s 11th World Congress on Adolescent Health be held in New Delhi from October 27-29.
- This year’s theme is ‘Investing in Adolescent Health-The Future is Now’.
2.Himachal Pradesh: Country’s first electric bus service launched.
3.The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, dedicated inaugurated the Deendayal Hastkala Sankul – a trade facilitation centre for handicrafts – at Varanasi.
4.The Minister of Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr. Harshvardhan launched “Pt Deen Dayal Upadhayay Vigyan Gram Sankul Pariyojana” which will experiment and endeavour to formulate and implement appropriate S&T Interventions for Sustainable Development through cluster approach in Uttarakhand.
5.NITI Aayog and Govt. of Assam launches SATH programme Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital,which aims to provide structured support to Assam in identifying key health priorities and implement the solutions towards transforming the health and improving the well-being of people of Assam.

8.PM Modi to launch 24×7 electricity-for-all scheme, the scheme will be named ‘Saubhagya’ and provide subsidy on equipment like transformers, meters, and wires.
Saubhagya scheme
- The government said that states will be required to complete the household electrification by March 31, 2019.
- The total outlay for the Saubhagya scheme will be Rs 16,320 crore. The outlay for the rural households is Rs 14,025 crore while the GBS is Rs 10,587.50 crore. For the urban households the outlay is Rs 2,295 crore while GBS is Rs 1,732.50 crore.
- The scheme will be funded by a 60 per cent grant from the government, with the states contributing 10 per cent and the remaining amount will be covered by loans.
- For special category states, the government will grant 85 per cent of the outlay, with the states contributing just 5 per cent.
- The gross budgetary support for the scheme will be Rs 12,320 crore.
- Electricity connections will be given to APL families for Rs 500, payable in 10 equal monthly installments, while BPL families will be given free connections.
9.Govt plans ‘lab on boat’ for analysing Brahmaputra river.The first laboratory under the Bramhaputra Biodiversity Biology Boat (B4) initiative will cover Pasighat, Dibrugarh, Neemati, Tejpur and Guwahati in Assam.
10.Rajnath Singh to launch PENCIL Portal at the National Conference on Child Labour.“PENCIL”: an electronic platform for effective enforcement for no child labour developed by Ministry of Labour and Employment.
11.The Minister of Communication Shri Manoj Sinha announced DoT’s first ever Mobile, Internet and Technology event in India – India Mobile Congress 2017, which is beginning from 27th September till 29th September 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
12.Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution launched the Web Portal of Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA) & “Electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipt (e-NWR) System” in New Delhi. e-NWRs would have no chances of any tempering, mutilation, fudging, loss or damage and with no possibility of any multiple financing according to Union Minister.
13.Kandla Port, located on the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat, is one of the twelve major ports in the country renamed as Deendayal Port.
14.Thaawarchand Gehlot, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment launched the Beta version of ‘Divyang Sarathi’—The accessible and comprehensive mobile application for easy dissemination of information to ‘Divyangjans.
15. The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for implementation of umbrella scheme of “Modernisation of Police Forces (MPF)” for years 2017-18 to 2019-20.
- The financial outlay for the scheme over the three year’s period is Rs. 25,060 crore, out of which the Central Government share will be Rs.18,636 crore and the States’ share will be Rs.6,424 crore.
- Special provision has been made under the Scheme for internal security, law and order, women security, availability of modern weapons, mobility of police forces, logistics support, hiring of helicopters, upgradation of police wireless, National Satellite Network, CCTNS project, E-prison project etc.
- Under the umbrella scheme, central budget outlay of Rs. 10,132 crore has been earmarked for internal security related expenditure for Jammu & Kashmir, North Eastern States and left wing extremism affected States.
- Scheme of Special Central Assistance (SCA) for 35 worst LWE affected districts has been introduced with an outlay of Rs. 3,000 crore to tackle the issue of underdevelopment in these district.
- An outlay of Rs.100 crore has been earmarked in the North Eastern States for police infrastructure up-gradation, training institutes, investigation facilities etc.
16.The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) registered National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL) as an Information Utility (IU) under the IBBI (Information Utilities) Regulations, 2017.
- This registration is valid for five years from the date of registration.
- IU stores financial information that helps to establish defaults as well as verify claims expeditiously and thereby facilitates completion of transactions under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 in a time bound manner.
- It constitutes a key pillar of the insolvency and bankruptcy ecosystem, the other three being the Adjudicating Authority (National Company Law Tribunal and Debt Recovery Tribunal), the IBBI and Insolvency Professionals.
- NeSL becomes the first IU registered by the IBBI. According to the information submitted for registration, its Board of Directors comprises.
17.The Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) of the Ministry of Women & Child Development has started a monthly “Jan Sampark” program to enable the public to have interaction with its officials and staff for seeking information related to Adoption as well as flagging their concerns.
18.President Ram Nath Kovind launched the ‘Adopt a Heritage’ initiative on World Tourism Day 27 September , under which heritage sites will be entrusted to public and private enterprises and individuals for maintenance.

26.72nd Regular Session of UN (United Nations) General Assembly (UNGA 72) was held at UN Headquarters, in New York.
- Mr.Miroslav Lajcak presided over the 72nd session of the UNGA.
- External Affairs Minister of India Ms.Sushma Swaraj addressed the 72nd session of United Nations General Assembly.
- During this session, 50 countries signed a treaty to ban nuclear weapons, which was first signed by Brazil.
- The countries that have signed the treaty would not develop, test, produce, manufacture, acquire, possess or stock nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
27.World Tourism Day: 27 September. World Tourism Day 2017 is celebrated on the theme ‘Sustainable Tourism – a Tool for Development’.
