Answer

1) C
Time=[(55-50)/(50×20-55×18)]×100=50

2) C
A=P (1+r1/100) (1+r2/100) (1+r3/100)
13305.60=P (1+8/100) (1+10/100) (1+12/100)
P=10000

3) B

Work done by Ramu for 1 day = 1/48
Work done by Vimal for 1 day = 1/32
Work done by Ramu in 8 days =8 x (1/48)=1/6
Remaining work = 1 – 1/6 = 5/6
Time taken = (5/6)/(1/48+1/32)=16 days

4) C
Let distance be x
x/ 45 + x/ 35=10
x=71.875
Total distance=71.875 x 2 = 143.75

5) B
Let the speed of train be U & V
U+V=180/6=30……………(i)
U=V+16 …………(ii)
From Eq. (i) & (ii)
U=23, V=7

6) C
Let the original cost price is ‘x’, so selling price is
125 x/100 = 5x/ 4
Now CP = x – 250,
S.P. = 5x/4 – 250
Profit = 5x/4 – 250– (x – 250) = 5x/4 – x = x/4
% profit = x/4 * 1/(x – 250) * 100 = 33
25x/(x – 250) = 33
8x = 8250
x = 1031.25

7) E
Let the rate of interest is r% p.a.
5600 * r * 4/100 + 7200 * r * 6/100 = 9184
224 r + 432 r = 9184
r = 9184/656 = 14% pa

8) A
Let the principal is P and rate of interest is r
P (1 + R/100)3 = 115824 —– I
P (1 + R/100)2 = 96520 —— II
Dividing equn I by II
1 + R/100 = 115824/96520
R/100 = 1.2 – 1 = 0.2
R = 0.2 * 100 = 20% pa
P = (1 + 20/100)2 = 96520
p = 96520 * 100/144 = 67027.78 ≈ 67030

9) C
Now 7 letters are left for seven different places.
Req. No. of wages = 7P7 = 7! = 5040

10) C
