1.15th January 2018: 70th Army Day
he 70th Army Day is being celebrated today (15th January 2018). The day is celebrated to pay homage and salute to the courageous and brave Indian soldiers who have been sacrificing their lives for protecting the country.

2.Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in India
Benjamin Netanyahu, who is the second Israeli PM to visit India after Ariel Sharon, was accorded a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan. The first one took place when PM Narendra Modi visited Israel in July 2017, becoming the first Indian leader to visit the Jewish state.
3.HM Rajnath Singh inaugurates two-day International Workshop on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure
Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh will inaugurate a two-day International Workshop on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (IWDRI) in New Delhi. The workshop is organised by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).
4.Delhi and Punjab richest states, Jain wealthiest community: National survey
According to wealth index released on basis of data from fourth round of National Family and Health Survey(NFHS-4) recently released by the Ministry Of Health And Family Welfare. Delhi is richest state and Jain wealthiest community in the country.
Bihar is poorest state half of its households in the bottom quintile .Rajasthan has most equitable wealth distribution with a similar number of households in all quintiles.

1.India contributes USD 50,000 to UN Youth Envoy’s Office
India has contributed USD 50,000 to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’s Office of Envoy on Youth to help with its mission of involving young people in the world body’s goals.
2.India, Bhutan jointly unveil ‘Special logo’
External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj and Bhutan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Lyonpo Damcho Dorji jointly unveiled the ‘Special logo’ for the Golden Jubilee celebrations in New Delhi and Thimphu through video-conference. The Golden Jubilee of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan is being celebrated in the year 2018.

2.IDFC Bank and Capital First announce merger via share swap deal
IDFC Bank and Capital First has approved a merger of Capital First with IDFC Bank. Pursuant to the merger which is subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals, IDFC Bank will issue 139 shares for every 10 shares of Capital First.
