1.Sikkim Chief Minister Becomes India’s Longest-Serving CM

Sikkim chief minister Pawan Chamling created history by becoming the longest-serving CM in India.

In 1993, Mr Chamling formed the Sikkim Democratic Front Party. Chamling, who first took office on December 12, 1994, has led SDF to five successive electoral victories.

With the slogan “New Sikkim, Happy Sikkim”, he launched policies and programmes to transform the state.

2. Dalmia Bharat Adopts Red Fort And Gandikota Fort

The Ministry of Tourism signed an MoU with Dalmia Bharat and the Archaeological Survey of India to adopt the iconic Red Fort monument in New Delhi and Gandikota Fort in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh under the ‘Adopt a Heritage’ project.

The ‘Adopt a Heritage’ scheme was launched by President Ram Nath Kovind on World Tourism Day in 2018. The World Tourism Day is observed on September 27 every year.

3. Ayushman Bharat Diwas Celebrated Across The Country

Ayushman Bharat Diwas is being celebrated across the country, April 30.

4. PM Modi Releases Commemorative Postage Stamp On Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released a commemorative postage stamp on former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna.

5.Government Launches Seed Import-Export Portal

Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh has launched a portal to facilitate export-import of seeds and planting material

6. Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons Inaugurates ICI In Noida

The Indian Culinary Institute (ICI) was inaugurated by Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons in Noida. The institute aims to preserve, document, promote and disseminate Indian cuisine. The other campus was being set up in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati.

7. Kerala CM Launched Pravasi Pension Scheme

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has launched Pravasi pension scheme.

The scheme is not applicable for state and central government employees. The scheme was launched jointly by All India Malayalee Association (AIMA), Telangana, and Pravasi Welfare Board (Kerala government).

8. Nitin Gadkari Releases A Book Named “Have A Safe Journey”

Inaugurating “Road Safety Week”, Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari pledged for ‘Road Safety’. Minister Gadkari released a book named “Have a Safe Journey”.

This book is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division and Natural Habitat Preservation Centre.

16. GI Tag For Telangna’s Adilabad Dokra, Warangal Dhurries

Adilabad Dokra, an ancient metal craft that is popular in the state’s tribal regions, and Warangal durries or rugs, which are woven in handloom clusters in Warangal and Pochampally among other areas, have now been declared unique to the region.They were granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag by the GI registry in Chennai.

18. Government of India and World Bank Signs Agreement to Improve Rural Road Network in Madhya Pradesh

21. Nitish Kumar Launches Three Books On Champaran Movement

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released three books based on Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran movement of 1917.

Nitish Kumar released the books titled- ‘Mister M K Gandhi Ki Champaran Diary’ written by Arvind Mohan, ‘Champaran Andolan 1917’ edited by Ashutosh Partheshwar and ‘Pir Muhammad Munis: Kalam Ka Satyagrahi’ collected and edited by Srikant.
