2.7th India Energy Congress held in New Delhi
7th India Energy Congress was held in New Delhi where more than 400 experts met to discuss and debate the energy transition being witnessed, Energy 4.0 – the fourth energy revolution and draw map for 2030, in view of technological and digital disruptions already underway and those visible across the horizon.
3.India joins Ashgabat agreement
India has joined Ashgabat Agreement on the establishment of an International Transport and Transit Corridor between the Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The agreement was signed in April 2011, which envisages facilitation of transit and transportation of goods between Central Asia and the Persian Gulf.

Rwanda has become the first low-income country to provide universal eye care for its 12 million population.

1.World Bank Commits $100 million to Boost Tamil Nadu’s Rural Economy
The government and World Bank signed a $100 million (about Rs 6,40 crore) loan agreement to promote rural economy in selected blocks of Tamil Nadu across 26 districts, benefiting over 4 lakh people.
2.FY16 GDP Growth Revised up to 8.2%, FY17 Unchanged at 7.1%- CSO
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) revised the gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate for 2015-16 to 8.2% from the earlier estimates of 8% and kept the 2016-17 growth unchanged at 7.1%. The real GDP or GDP at constant (2011-12) prices for the years 2016-17 and 2015-16 stand at Rs121.96 trillion and Rs113.86 trillion respectively, according to the CSO statement.

After winning their maiden Ranji Trophy earlier this season, Vidarbha has recorded another first by winning the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy.
2.Mary Kom wins gold at India Open boxing
In Boxing, five-time world champion M C Mary Kom claimed a gold but the Indian men’s juggernaut was denied a complete sweep by traditional powerhouses Cuba and Uzbekistan on an exciting final day of the India Open Boxing Tournament, in New Delhi.
